Discover More About Our Standing Committees

The Standing Committee on Research Exchange organises research exchanges abroad in English or French. SCORE is an international programme of IFMSA, the umbrella organisation of BeMSA. SCORE is organised in more than a hundred countries all over the world.

The Standing Committee on Professional Exchange organises clinical internships abroad in English or French. SCOPE is an international project of IFMSA, the umbrella organisation of BeMSA, and is organised in more than 100 countries all over the world.

The Standing Committee On Medical Education focuses on the medical education of medical students. Medicine is a long programme that comes with a lot of responsibility, choices and effort. SCOME follows how medical students experience this, tries to guide them along the way, adds to their training where possible and, above all, aims to inspire them for their future careers.

The Standing Committee on Human Rights and Peace brings together students who believe in a world of peace, equal opportunities, and international and intercultural solidarity. In other words: a world where all human rights are fully respected. Through our projects and events, we invite other students to strive for this world together with us!

We are the Ghent branch of BeMSA, or the "Belgian Medical Students' Association", a Belgian student-led organisation for students in the medical sector. Our mission is to unite and empower healthcare students by giving them the knowledge, skills and values to become competent, culturally aware health workers and health leaders, for equal access to healthcare for everyone.

The Standing Committee on Public Health focuses on specific public health issues in our society. It is the ideal opportunity to show your social commitment and to connect with different levels of society.

The Standing Committee on Global Surgery forms the link between BeMSA Ghent and the student organisation InciSioN Ghent. Together they organise various projects focused on surgery and equity in surgical care.

The Standing Committee on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights including HIV and AIDS is a group of passionate people who try to bring as much awareness and level-headedness as possible to the topic of sexual and reproductive health and rights. We also try to break the stigma that this topic often carries.
